Dog Training

My training philosophy centers on balanced reinforcement and relationship-building. I believe that training should be an educational and rewarding experience for both dogs and their handlers. By using rewards, such as treats, praise, and play, I motivate dogs to learn and engage with their training. I tailor each training program to meet the unique needs and goals of the dog and handler, ensuring a personalized approach that fosters success and confidence.
Puppy Socialization and Training: I provide comprehensive socialization and training for puppies, emphasizing the importance of early experiences and foundational skills. This includes bite inhibition, basic commands, and exposure to various environments and stimuli.
Obedience Training Levels 1 - 3: I provide foundational training that covers essential commands such as sit, stay, come, heel, drop it, place and much more. For dogs that have mastered the basics, we offer multiple levels of training that includes off-leash reliability, complex commands, and improved impulse control. My goal is to develop well-mannered dogs that can confidently navigate various environments. I focus on building a solid relationship between the dog and owner through clear communication.
Leash Manners and Walking Skills: I teach effective leash handling techniques to promote relaxed, enjoyable walks. My training focuses on loose-leash walking, impulse control, and proper greetings with other dogs and people.
Behaviour Modification: I address behavioural challenges such as on leash reactivity, excessive barking, aggression, anxiety, and fearfulness. I create personalized plans to help dogs overcome their fears and unwanted behaviours.

Mikayla has been wonderful for our Cane Corso puppy. She also took the time to train us to handle him properly, and make sure that his training is consistent at home as well. Our dog went from pulling, being overly reactive towards people and other dogs- to walking in a perfect heel and focusing only on us. She does a nice mix of balanced reinforcement, which worked very well for our dog. Mikayla is amazing. She started working with my French bulldog, buddha, when he was 8-weeks old and had him sitting patiently within the first 30 minutes of puppy training. After having completed puppy training, we are successfully continuing through her training protocol. Mikayla's patience, focus and ability to explain the process; have made the follow-through and practice easy for me to complete with buddha. At 4.5 months old, my pup is more polite and better behaved than most dogs we come across. I happily refer her to all of my friends who need help with their dogs.

I have a beautiful, Siberian husky, and already seeing a huge difference from the past few weeks! She is a good dog to begin with but now, she does not pull on the leash.
